What is that over youe fajitas. Pop corn?
How was it?! Looks AMAZING.
Oh that looks amazing! Recipe please :)
Broooo this ice cream is soooo good. Whenever you hit the mini fudge pieces inside, it’s like finding gold. SOOOO delish!
I'm so surprised that anyone has said anything rude to you! As you said, most vegans weren't born into it, so lots of us had a day that we just decided to make a change. For me it was one night when I went out for burgers (such irony) and my friend's daughter was talking about wanting to be a vegetarian. The talk at dinner was interesting and I decided to watch Cowspiracy when I got home. Mind blown! I knew I wanted to cut back on animal products, so I continued on the path and watched What the Health, and I was a vegan from right then. That was about 5 months ago and I know this is forever. I'm done with animal products. I think once you start eating vegan and thinking about your food choices and the impact they make on the earth and animals in a new way, it really causes a spiritual change. I'm so happy for you and for all of us that have discovered this beautiful way of living!
Thanks for reminding me what it's all about. I have had some rude ass comments recently once people have found out that I'm vegan (in these cases, occurring while making food choices). One from a classmate and one from my roommate when I first met her.
1) "all vegans are preachy assholes" as I asked my other classmate (who said she was gluten/dairy free) whether she thought they had any vegan options on the menu. Then other classmate interjected with her preachy vegan comment, then very condescendingly proceeded to inform me about the fries being cooked in the same frier as chicken, to which I replied "oh yeah, i don't really care about that" to which she responded "oh, you're not a hardcore vegan".... idk man. I just marched up to the counter and ordered my damn fries, proceeded to talk to the cashier about deaf culture (doing a thing for my ASL class), then avoided my classmate for the rest of the evening.
2) that's ok that you're a vegan! i don't mind.
uhhhh.... i wasn't seeking permission. but thank you new roomie. I got the impression that she was rather ignorant of how popular and common veganism is.
Anyways, glad to have that off my chest. Basically your post just reminded me that there is always hope :)
Hey there! Good for you, we're glad to have you! But... Eggos though. <- I added a period for the punthusiasts
This was really inspiring thanks for posting.
reminds me of the horrifying part of animal farm (i know its an allegory/metaphor thing but still) where the horse gets taken away to be made into glue, i was shook to say the least
It's impossible... So far. I honestly can't wait for the day we can get all our nutrients from a bar. Godamn, that'll be the day. The day were we can surpass the necessity to taste "good" food and focus on more sustainable and exciting endeavors
If this guy keeps it up I'm gonna have to buy his jersey or something. And thats as a huge lakers fan. The man says some moronic stuff but if he can show the world a vegan can ball the fuck out then I'm a huge fan
Lmao this is true! I'm currently living in East Texas, and I won't date a meat eater, a conservative, or a radical evangelical. I pretty much have to accept being alone for the time being until I get to a place where I resonate with the people more.
It's good to be alone sometimes, you learn independence and strength. Plus those times of transition in life, those lonely times, will make you appreciate the love and stability that comes your way even more!
Ah yes. All the idiots that fight you with "HOW WILL YOU EVER GET ALL YOUR NUTRIENTS AND PROTEIN IF YOU GO VEGAN" don't even care about what THEY eat
This is the most heartwarming thing I have ever read
If this isn't animal abuse idk what is
This is one of my go to meals and my kids LOVE IT! It's so tasty and I add cashews and yum yum yum!
fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck this looks so fucking good
Way too much tofu imo
I’m impressed! I can’t get tofu to be crispy for the life of me.
Looks good, I always make mine with tempeh. Give tempeh a try.
I made the most simple stir fry with smoked tofu, roasted broccoli (leftover from meal prep), mushrooms, toasted sesame oil, and tamari. I wanna eat it everyday it was so good. Topped it with roasted pepitas for some crunch, also delicious.
We do this at least once a week. Never gets old
I am totally trying this soon, thank you for sharing!
May I recommend baking the tofu for extra crispy deliciousness?
I press and then bake mine at 400 about 30 minutes total, flip over after 15.
Try adding in glass noodles to soak up the sauce! 🤤
IT IS NEARLY MIDNIGHT AND IM CRAVING THIS REAL BAD. I'd wake up my family cooking but... worth it
Looks amazing. Have you tried with peanuts? Feel like the added texture would be perfect and I just really like peanut dishes (Kung Pao, Pad Thai, etc.)
Forget the recipe. What’s your address?
Oh yeah, I remember when I used to argue with vegans.
Don't care at all about girls tbh. Such a low priority for me atm.
This reminds me of the dairy farm I live next to! Years ago they had a pasture next to the barns that they would let the cows graze in.
But then they started farming that land, and now the cows stay inside year round :( it makes me so sad every time I drive by, I wish I could see them finally stretch their legs and get some sun like the cows in the gif!
As cynical and genocidal I am to self-proclaimed omnivores, this is the way you go about converting people. Compassion.
Yes! Even if she never goes fully vegan, if it means she thinks twice about her actions and starts cutting back on her meat consumption, that's a step in the right direction.
I used to be convinced I would never be vegan, yet here I am. All it can take is one person to open your eyes for there to be a domino effect :)
This is great to hear. Hearts and minds are changed one at a time. I've had discussion with people that end up in a very similar fashion - "I don't think I'll go vegan, but you made me think". All we can do is put a rock in their shoe and hope that turns into something they can't ignore anymore, something they have to ultimately figure out on their own.
Good Job on the Photography! makes me want to try em which is what i think i'll do 🤤
>Also tried some food photography
you forgot the haphazard mess of crumbs and entire cup of flower dusted all over the place and random flowers meticulously placed on the cutting board
stereotypical food blog photography 0/10
I thought it said food pornography but honestly either way the title works, these look really good!
Wow! They’ve risen so beautifully and they look so fluffy and moist. I have to make these immediately. Recipe please?
Great photography and those muffins look so yummy! ^_^
Looks delish! Mind sharing a recipe?
One of my cats does this same thing to me while lying on my chest at night (or during a nap, or when I'm on the couch -- any time I'm lying down, basically, because my chest/stomach is her favorite sleeping spot), complete with head-tilt and hesitation. It's even cuter with a little bird!
That looks wonderful! I studied abroad in Prague two summers ago and worried that the vegan options would be slim to none. To my surprise my apartment was about a ten minute walk from a vegan grocery store connected to a fully vegan restaurant (Veganz and Loving Hut in Praha 8). Saved my life.
I’ve been in Prague since Monday (going home early tomorrow). Where’s this from? We’ve been to everywhere else you mentioned but never saw this as a dessert anywhere!
Can I order in English?
I'm going to Prague next week! Any recommendations?
I'm a vegan and I haven't eaten a vegetable in like 2 weeks.
12% is higher than I expected.
Men are condition through advertising much more than women to eat meat. Think of Hardee's ads for example. Poor people are more likely to live in food deserts than rich people. Even if they do make enough money to afford veggies, if the closest places nearby are just convenience stores and not grocery store or something like Super Target, they might not even have access to most fruits and vegetables. And in general, people are lead to believe that meat is the most filling source of food and that things like tofu are icky. Most Americans have little to no actual education on nutrition.
Not buying the whole "poor people can't afford vegetables" thing. I am poor. I am vegan. We get along just fine vegetable-wise! I eat avocados. I eat mothafuckin pineapple. Berries? Done son! No excuses people.
edit: I know those aren't vegetables but was just trying to make a point I eat the good stuff too. It's not all just rice, beans, and salad.
